Cookie Cutter Watercolor Cards

A while ago, I found a blog called Grow Creative. This lady is super talented! She had a tutorial for doing watercolor stencils that I loved! I’m not an artist at all, but I thought…I can do that! And if I can do that, I bet my kids would LOVE to do that. So, I loaded up with watercolor supplies and let the kids go. I wanted them to make some cards. We know a lot of people that live far away and cards would be a great thing to stock up on.

On Grow Creative, she actually uses stencils, but I didn’t have any on hand. But, I do have tons of cookie cutters so I decided to improvise. They worked great as replacements and honestly I think it was easier to hold them still with kid hands. My kids had so much fun! They’ve asked me several times since if they could make more.

  2. What a cute idea. The projects that the kids made turn out very cute too. I am sure they are proud of themselves, because the artwork looks like the stencil. This is a time when kids can actually make something that a parent can look at and say they know what it is.
